Wall Liner System

System Overview

The Wall Liner System is an economical method to dry lining an existing wall by fixing plasterboard to brick, block or concrete walls. The plasterboards are power-screwed to vertically mounted, lightweight metal furring channels. This will provide a smooth wall where additional decoration and fittings may be applied. Also, this allows services (pipes, wires etc…) to be placed between the wall and the lining.

System Components

  1. Lining Furring Channel (35x12 mm).

  2. Plasterboard (12.5mm).

  3. Drywall Screws (25mm long).

Fixing Notes

bullet

For 12.5 mm plasterboards, the furring spaces should be 600 mm centers. bullet

Recommended drywall screw size is 25mm. bullet

In addition to 12.5mm plasterboard, the following may also be used: Duplex wallboard, moisture resistance board, thermal board and urethane laminate. The wall liner system is ideal for resizing and or realigning walls and permits infra-structure services behind the wallboard used. However,       when services run horizontally then a cut in the vertical furring channel is unavoidable. In these cases, the discontinuity in any vertical furring channel should not exceed 300mm.
